Enter local Melbournian Leigh Hannah, or better known by his musical alter ego; The Townhouses.
Leigh’s 2010 debut album Islands is a wonderful lo-fi/ambient CD made perfectly for chilling out. The music he creates is beautifully crafted. It’s many different layers of sounds give it a kind of enigmatic quality taking you on a journey through the highest of highs and the most chilling of lows. After having a listen through it is no surprise why he was asked to support massive international acts such as Pantha du Prince (one of my favourites from last years Meredith Music Festival) and world renowned chill-waver Toro Y Moi! As the DIY bedroom-pop scene is constantly growing we can expect big things from this young producer/musician.
Catch him (am I implore you to) June 24th at the Workers Club supporting Kings for their album launch!
