Late last year, Calvin Harris revealed he will no longer be singing on any of his future productions or performing any more live shows. Claiming he will be leaving the singing to people who sing well – proper artists.
Harris told Annie Mac during an interview on her weekly Radio 1 show, that before issuing another album he planned to release four or five singles to re-establish himself as a slightly new entity. Creating dance music without the big synths. His first single ‘Awooga’ has been making waves all over the world with his second single ‘Bounce’ featuring Kelis on vocals set to do the same.
To put it simply ‘Bounce’ is infective. Everything about it is catchy. The melody and vocals are calm and more charming than a leprechaun. Beware though; this calm quickly turns into a storm. The drop is so warm and explosive; I’d say this storm would have to be a sun-storm (sun + rain = rainbow).
I think this track is the soundtrack to a dream. A dream of an adventure Calvin Harris went on to find the end of the rainbow. Although like most great dreams he woke up before it had an ending. Once he releases this though I’m sure he’ll find the pot of gold waiting for him in the form of royalties.
